The Puppet One
Part II - Materials
I am back with the promised materials.
We will start with the body and move step by step, so that we can add the head later, once our new chapter The Face is ready.
The materials you will need are:
– flexible plastic tubing
(this will sit inside the body, so we can attach the head later while keeping everything bendable)
– upholstery foam
– a wooden rod
(you can absolutely use chopsticks again)
– elastic cord
(this will connect the head to the body)
– a styrofoam ball
(this will be the core of the head)
As for measurements:
we will make this puppet slightly larger than the previous ones, so the movement has a bit more space to exist.
My piece of foam (for the body) is about 15 cm. It won’t stay a block, but this gives you a general sense of scale.
The styrofoam ball is only the inner core of the head, so choose one that is smaller than the final size you imagine.
Nothing too precise. We are building something that will figure itself out while we go.
